RESTed - Simple HTTP Requests App Reviews

Great, but incomplete

Great app, but lacks an important feature: history. A sidebar with all requests sent would be great.

Need history of of the requests.

the GUI is pretty good worth the money but it need a history manager of the requests.

Please Request History

Hey, as other reviews, this is great but i also miss a request history… We can save everything but a history would be great.

Some UI improvements in 1.1

Version 1.1 got some UI improvements and syntax highlighting. Sheets are gone now, but the navigation is still annoying. The icons are are useless. A stamp for illustrating request and documents depot for response? No! And why do I have to change the ui context just to add header fields? Why are request/response separated in the ui at all? Why not use segemented control?

Nearly perfect

Best app for this task i can imagine :-) This is wat i was looking for! Are you planing to implement parameters for DELETE requests? Im not sure if this fullfills the rfc but im using this since it fits into my business logic. Its working without any issue with Java (serverside with Jersey) and PHP (client side). This is the only thing i cant do with Rested.

What an amazing update!

This update is really amazing…Love the new Icon and finally pretty JSON formatting!

Good start

I like the concept of this application, but I would like to see the ability to construct the body of POST requests myself. This would make the application truly useful for me. Hope to see more functionality along this line soon, good job so far.

Really handy little app!

Thanks!

Nice utility

Pretty handy utility if you work with a lot of Restful APIs. The only thing missing is Multipart Body support and the ability to include the contents of a file in a request.

Love this product… would love an update, too

This is a fantastic tool for testing REST commands, and configuring your header and body data. It’s invaluable! However, I would really like to see an update that supports more than just OAuth 1.0a, and updated to include additional SSL protocols. I’m limited to what appears to be TLS 1.0, but I’m connecting to a TLS 1.2 server, so Rested fails.

Extremely useful app!

Amazing app: light, quick, functionally-rich. Must-have for developers.

Simple and powerful

This has become one of my favorite apps in my developer toolkit. It has saved me a lot of time in the past week.

Better... but needs more simplicity.

Definitely an improvement over the last version, but in terms of UI, I think "HTTP Client" still has this app beat. The url, type of request, header info, and response data should all be visible at the same time.

Best REST Client

I have tried 4 different REST clients and this is the best yet.

5 stars, really?

The UI and poor organization of this application make it all but unusable. This is amazing since the point of RESTful services is simplicity. For anyone who buys this and wants to set manual tokens, the "OAuth" panel that is referered to is under Window -> OAuth Tokens, and is labeled "Authorized OAuth Tokens".

Best client Ive used for debugging REST-like APIs

I tried another HTTP client before this, but it didnt work for me despite being highly rated on the App Store. RESTed worked well and I like the fact that it prints JSON responses in a more readable format. Two feature requests: 1.) allow the left panel to be resized when working with long URLs and/or body contents; 2.) save history so frequently-used requests dont have to be typed over and over again.

New design is not flexible enough.

My previous rating was 4 of 5. The UI is a step in the right direction but it makes too many assumptions. 1. HTTP Body is only available for sites with Basic auth, why? 2. The parameter manager is only available for sites with OAuth, why? Suggestions: 1. Move the oauth "manage" as the content of the OAuth tab. 2. Make tabs in the top left section. e.g., Header, Body, Parameters 3. Move Body and Parameters into the top left. 4. Rename Basic to HTTP auth. Add digest support if not already available.

Missing body on OAuth

Its a good client, just need some UI polishing. And I second Forest requests!

Great App, One Small Complaint

I love this app, it saves me a ton of time, but I HATE the new icon. It was a drastic change from the old icon, and it seems like a poor representation of the app. It probably sounds stupid to alot of other people, but Im a little OCD about app icons. :D Overall though, great work, and well worth the price.

Works very well -- OAuth too!

Very well done app. If youre looking to assemble RESTful requests and want to see a breakdown of the raw Request Header, see the raw Reponse Header and the Response Body (pretty-printing is an option), then this app is for you. You can launch multiple requests sets, and even save them. Great app and easily worth a couple bucks.
